Mrs. Williams brings her 13 years of teaching experience in both Guilford and Forsyth counties to The Piedmont School. Beginning at TPS in 2013, she possesses an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Masters degree in Special Education from Greensboro College. Kim holds a North Carolina K-12 special education certification. Along with her state certification, she also is trained in many areas of special education including, but not limited to Number Words and Corrective Reading, Wilson Reading, TOUCH Math, and Foundations of Math, FOSS, and DSM Science curriculum, Living Notebooks, Learn ed notebooks. Kim presented at the Autism Avenue conference in Atlanta in 2015, alongside Dr. Sybil Keesbury discussing how The Piedmont School's methods work with our student population. Currently, Kim teaches Science. She is also our EC liaison guiding families with Exceptional Children’s paperwork. In her spare time, Kim enjoys music, playing the flute and drums, studying Cherokee medicine and traditions, Middle Eastern dancing, and gem collecting. She and her husband John have one wonderful daughter Lilly who is 9, and a three-year-old son named Ryan.
