Mrs. Davis returned to The Piedmont School from the Guilford County school system with 26 years experience in education. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and her Master's Degree in Reading K-12 from North Carolina A&T University. She holds her Reading Recovery Certification and her National Board Certification in Literacy-Language Arts Early/Middle Childhood. Deneane has presented at many local and state educational conferences including the North Carolina Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. She has led several parent workshops during her previous stint at The Piedmont School (2005-2010). She taught Reading, Written Language, Mathematics, and initiated many programs at TPS including summer enrichment camps and the highly successful after-school program. Deneane is Orton Gillingham trained and provides after school tutoring as well as one on one reading sessions with TPS students during the school day. She is happily married to Steven Davis a fellow educator and Head football coach, and they have 2 beautiful children, Darah and Steven Davis II.
