Debbie Albert

Mrs. Albert is an educator with more than 35 years of teaching experience in settings including public elementary, private preschool and elementary, and higher education. She earned both her Elementary Education K-6 undergraduate degree and master’s degree in Elementary Education with a literacy concentration from High Point University where she later taught in the Stout School of Education for 12 years.

She believes in recognizing, welcoming, and teaching children where they are and fostering a love of learning in each one. It is her belief that every child can learn and succeed when given the opportunity and encouragement they need. To walk beside children and watch them grow is the greatest reward of being a teacher.

Mrs. Albert sees education as an agent for change. Learners drive change and progress in society. Education spans beyond the academic goals to include social-emotional growth. A teacher should encourage students as they build their own self-confidence and learn empathy for others. Ultimately a teacher’s goal is to create a bridge for students to travel as they become educated, caring, service-minded members of society.

When Mrs. Albert is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys reading, kayaking and riding bikes with her husband.
