About Us:
Accreditations
The
Piedmont School
is accredited by the Southern Association of
Independent Schools (SAIS) and the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
After meeting rigorous quality standards and a
peer evaluation by outside professionals,
The
Piedmont School's
accreditation was renewed in October 2011.
Established in 1895, SACS is a non-governmental,
voluntary organization that accredits more than
13,000 public and non-public institutions from
early-childhood to university. Today, SACS is
the largest accrediting agency in the world.
Accreditation is voluntary and must be renewed
each year.
A school that achieves dual accreditation
demonstrates its effectiveness and ability to
provide successful schooling for children. The
hallmarks of an accredited school include
commitments to:
* A set of rigorous, research-based standards;
* A program of continuous school improvement;
* A quality assurance process that involves
stakeholders in self-evaluation, and
* A peer review every five years.
